Using The Best Value View

The Best Value View is perhaps the most powerful tool designed to assist you during the draft.

The Best value is determined using an algorithm and complex simulation to predict the number of players at each position that will be drafted before you pick again. Once the number of players at each position is determined, Draft Master will located the "Next" best player that may be available for your next selection. After the "Next" is located, the points delta is calculated by taking the diference between the best "Player" available and the "Next" best player available. This number is multiplied by need to get the Value. The position with the largest delta Value is the position you should consider to draft.

FieldDescription
Auto deflate need: As the draft progress Draft Master will evaluate your current roster and adjust the need column of this view. The Need column should start a 1.0 and move down as you fill that position. For example, if you start 2 RBs and you already drafted 3 then you could set the need to 0.5 so that the value for that position is 1/2 the delta. This basically lowers the end results for a given position. There are a few pre-packaged methologies for lowering Need. They are as follows:
  • Off: Need is left at 1.0 (or what ever you change it to) for the entire draft.
  • Slow Deflation: Need is adjusted very slowly. This setting is ideal for keeper or dynasty leagues. Or if you are an active trader and you want to grab value over filling your starting lineup.
  • Normal Deflation: Need is adjusted to account for your roster requirements and current roster at an average rate. This setting is what most users whould consider as it slowly lowers need untill your starters are drafted.
  • Fast Deflation: Need is adjusted quickly. Use this setting if you like to draft all your starters first, then backups.
Look ahead:The number of picks to forecast to get Next players.
Auto look ahead:Draft Master will calculate the number of picks between the current pick and your next pick, and set the look ahead.
